10 Underrated Games On Xbox Series X|S
If you have an Xbox Series X|S and are looking for something to play, these games are worth your time.
Even with the Game Pass service from Microsoft, it’s hard to keep up with all the new Xbox games. Most of the time, most gamers won’t notice some of them.
At any given time, there are a lot of great games to choose from, including story-driven adventures, action-packed shooters, and small, under-the-radar gems. Many of these games got a lot of attention when they first came out, but they soon got lost in the crowd of triple-A blockbusters. Even though these Xbox games didn’t get as much attention as they had hoped, they still deserve a lot of love.
Immortals Fenyx Rising
Immortals: Fenyx Rising is about as close to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild as you can get before a copyright claim is made. It takes a lot of ideas from Nintendo’s best work. On a quest to save the gods from a dark curse that has hit the land, you get to explore a brightly colored world full of creatures from Greek mythology.
Even though there were next-gen versions of the game, it was a bit overshadowed by the new generation of consoles, which came out at the same time. It wasn’t as good as Breath of the Wild and seemed to get lost in the sea of big triple-A games that came out during the busy winter season. But it’s still a game worth playing.
As Dusk Falls
As Dusk Falls is a great adventure game where the story and characters are the most important parts. This is more of an interactive drama where you have to make choices on the spot that will have a big effect on the characters and the overall plot. It makes you want to play it over and over again to see all the different ways it can end.
Unfortunately, the game didn’t catch on as much as it could have, probably because it was too easy. It’s a shame because it has a great story and blurs the lines between video games and movies. It has great graphics and pushes the limits of what a game can be.
Citizen Sleeper
Citizen Sleeper, which came out in 2022, was lost on a lot of people because it came out at the same time as a lot of other triple-A heavy hitters. In this action role-playing game (RPG), you play as a broken-down android nomad who is trying to stay alive while drifting through space on a huge space station with no rules.
Erlin’s Eye station is home to a large number of people from outside the station, with whom you can build strong relationships. This Cyberpunk story is told in a touching way, but it can go in a lot of different ways depending on the choices you make and the people you spend the most time with. It is a one-of-a-kind experience that is worth it just for the cool graphics and great music.
Tunic
Even though the game got good reviews and there was a lot of buzz when it first came out on Game Pass, the love for Tunic has died down a bit since it came out. That’s too bad, because it’s one of the cutest independent games you can play today.
It looks like it was inspired by Zelda because of its long green sleeves. Tunic has tough-as-nails combat like the Souls games and the Metroidvania-style backtracking that keeps you interested. It also has a funny manual inside the game that you have to collect pages from to help you get into new areas and solve puzzles. It’s a nice throwback that gamers who have played games for a long time will enjoy.
Nobody Saves The World
Nobody Saves the World is a top-down action RPG dungeon crawler. It’s different from Guacamelee, which was a sidescrolling game with a lot of melee combat. Instead, you play as a shapeless “Nobody” who can be almost anything it wants.
You can change into up to fifteen different forms, and each one gives you different ways to fight, different quests, and different ways to play. The fun of changing forms doesn’t end there, though. You can mix and match forms as much as you want, letting you combine abilities and play with powerful custom builds.
Prodeus
Prodeus is a tribute to the glory days of first-person shooters, with all the pixelated blood and overpowered guns you can handle. Its graphics combine the low-resolution pixels of old games like Doom and Hexen with the impressive lighting and particle effects of newer games in a way that looks great. It’s a great mix that makes running and shooting in this dangerous world a real treat.
There is an action-packed single-player campaign, four-player co-op, a variety of fast-paced multiplayer modes, and a level editor that is surprisingly easy to use and has already led to a lot of cool maps made by the community. Its fans love it, but the game doesn’t get as much attention as it should, even though it has great gameplay and insanely beautiful graphics.
Tinykin
Tinykin‘s story is definitely one of a kind and easy to remember. You control Milo, a space traveler who crashes on Earth in the 1990s and ends up in a big house. In Tinykin, you can jump, float, and soap-glide your way through a house full of bugs, ants, and the game’s title character, the tinykin.
You have to use your Pikmin-like skills to lead a variety of these curious little creatures around the house to find the parts you need to fix your ship and do other things you want them to do. It’s a fun and colorful platformer that borrows from both the Pikmin series and the popular collectathon platformers of the 1990s. It’s a charming and fun experience that more people should have, especially now that it’s part of Game Pass.
Somerville
Somerville is a smaller independent game that offers a truly unique experience. Fans of “War of the Worlds” will love this one, in which a man fights to stay alive as strange structures and even stranger beings try to take over the earth.
If you want to understand what happened while he was looking for his family, you have to learn how to adapt. Somerville is a must-play because you can meet strange people and gain supernatural powers as you go. Since it’s on Game Pass, it’s easy to give it a try.
Scorn
Scorn is a first-person horror game with a lot of creepy atmosphere. It was inspired by the brilliantly twisted works of H.R. Giger. It got bad reviews when it came out, mostly because it turned people’s expectations about what a game is upside down. We can all agree on one thing: it looks scary beautiful in all the right ways.
The game is less about fast-paced action and more about hard-to-solve puzzles, which makes it slower and more thoughtful. The puzzles are very hard, and there aren’t many checkpoints, so you really have to be on your game. Most people quit the game early because it’s too hard, but if you stick with it, you can really see something special.
Immortality
Immortality is more like a story you can interact with than a real 8 Ball Pool game, which is totally fine. You have to look through hours of live-action found footage clips to try to figure out who killed a well-known actress.
It’s a very unique experience because you have to pull together a lot of interesting storylines to figure out what’s going on. It’s probably one of the best FMV games ever made, and it has one of the best video game stories of 2022. Anyone who likes movies should at least give it a look.
