7 Best Classes In Torchlight Infinite, Ranked
In Torchlight Infinite, there are many different classes to choose from. Which ones are the best and most fun to play as?
On the surface, Torchlight Infinite looks like a standard dungeon crawling mobile game where you press a button to win. However, once you get past the tutorials and learning curve, there is so much depth and customization that no two players will play the same class the same way.
Even though this list is mostly about classes, they will be separated by character. Even if two characters are in the same class, they won’t play the same way and will have different skills and moves, even if they are in the same class. Torchlight Infinite will probably change in the future as it gets bigger.
Commander – Moto
Moto is the only summoner in Torchlight Infinite, but he doesn’t use magic to call things to him. Instead of you doing all the damage while the robots act as a shield, the robots do all the heavy lifting while you support and boost their attacks with the overload ability.
Moto’s classes are Order Calling and Charge Calling. There are some moves in their sets that they both do, but there are also some things that are different. Order Calling is about helping and improving your powerful mini army, while Charge Calling is all about destroying things. In Charge Calling mode, each of your robots will be able to self-destruct. Depending on what you’ve leveled, the damage will be very bad. Even though Moto is strong, the reason he is so far down the list is because of how he plays. Once your robots are fully powered up, they do all the work. All you have to do is give them more power or wait for the next wave of enemies to come so you can start the rotation over again. It’s fun for a little while, but if you try to do it for a long time, it can get boring.
Oracle Thea
As with all godly things, Oracle Thea tries to do what she thinks is fair in Torchlight Infinite. Each of her four blessings gives her more attack power, faster movement, or less damage taken. If you’re in a tight spot or just want to clear the room quickly, you can take all the blessings you’ve collected and use them to cast a big AOE attack called “Divine Punishment.” Depending on the type of blessing you’ve used, this attack will also give you a bonus buff.
Thea is technically a mage, but when it comes to knowing which moves and equipment to use, she is a typical “easy to learn, hard to master” type. Not only that, but a lot of her power will come from her items, not from her stats. She is one of only two units with only one class, but she doesn’t need more than one as long as she has her magic.
Divineshot – Carino
Sharpshooter Carino is as honest as a sharpshooter can be. His attacks depend on how much ammo he has, as well as on any special ammo he has. Special ammo gives each Special Bullet a damage boost, and it’s one of the support skills you can equip. You don’t have to do anything special to use the special ammo, either. It works automatically when it’s ready.
His paid class, “Lethal Flash,” gives him a few more skills than his free class, “Default.” Take the skill Evil Ouroboros. It makes any normal ammunition boomerang back in the direction it came from, hurting any enemies in the way. It’s good for when you’re backed up against a wall and need to move out of the way without giving up too much damage. In the end, though, his gameplay is mostly the same: shoot enemies until they get too close. Then dodge and move out of the way. Even though he can change his play style a little bit by making different builds based on different elements, it’s still pretty much the same way to fight.
Berserker – Rehan
Rehan is the personification of rage, no matter which of the two classes he is. He is a heavy hitter who uses big swords, axes, and hammers to smash into the ground and make big cracks that do AOE damage. Whether he’s attacking or defending, each of his skills is meant to make him stronger and fill his rage meter faster. Don’t let his big size make you think he’s slow and not very fast. Because he’s going to blow that idea out of the water, too.
He may not be as fast as Carino, but he can still bounce all over the field like a force that can’t be stopped and is heading toward something that can’t be moved. Even though Rehan is a good choice for your build if you want to do a lot of damage. His default abilities and passive aren’t very interesting. They make sense for how he plays, but he is in the middle of the pack compared to the other heroes and depends on your equipment and talents to make him unique.
Frostfire – Gemma
This mage is in charge of both ice and fire. She is all about doing damage, no matter how much it costs, as long as she has fun doing it. Once you’ve built up her fusion energy, her attacks can automatically and frequently freeze or ignite enemies. She is a strong choice in terms of raw elemental power. And she can be mixed and matched with lightning to do even more damage.
Her paid class, Frostbitten Heart, gets rid of her need for fire and makes her heart and attacks cold. Instead, she becomes all-powerful with both her automatic ring attack. Which is called Ring of Ice, and Frostbite Casket, which keeps her from dying at the last second. The only thing that keeps her from being number one is that, as a spellcaster. She can’t move around very well.
Cateye – Erika
Youga and Gemma are good at magic, and Erika‘s cateye class is good at damage that doesn’t come from magic. She flits around the field at top speed while keeping her buffs, Stalker and Cat’s Agility, up and in rotation. In Happy Wheels, it’s all about how you move. The more you move, the more Multistrike builds up. On the other hand, Cat’s Agility boots movement speed and gives you a 200 percent increase (or decrease) in movement speed.
The fact that she can’t use any elemental magic is her biggest flaw. Instead, you have to keep her buffs up on your own or risk losing power to compete with some of the stronger characters on the roster. Both this class and Divineshot could be called “glass cannons” because they are strong but easy to break.
Spacetime Witness – Youga
Youga is a bit of a controversial choice for so high up on the list. But where Gemma lacks in mobility, Youga makes up for it in spades. Not only can he cast spells and move around the field with ease. But he can also control time to call up a copy of you that does magic attacks with you to keep doing damage.
His other Class, Spacetime Elapse, focuses on maximizing the amount of damage over time you can get in your build while working with your Reaping ability. Which takes a percentage of damage equal to how much damage you did with all of your DOTs. This effectively melts all enemies on the field. It takes time and skill to level up this form, though. So be careful when you send him out on the field.
