INTRODUCTION:

Living beings and nonliving beings together form the ecosystem. Ecology is the branch of science that deals with the study of the environment and the mutual relationship. It is the study of interactions of organisms within the environment.

An ecology consultant performs surveys and research to offer advice on several environmental issues. An ecologist studies interaction and relationships between organisms and their environment. In the present scenario, there is a huge demand for ecologists. An ecological consultant undertakes research and surveys to provide advice on ecological matters. The experienced ecological consultant helps by reducing their environmental impacts.

An ecology consultancy is a private company that provides advice on ecological matters. many species get affected by certain projects, so consultancy must identify and advise different ways to avoid it or compensate .ecologists use their expertise to solve environmental problems, they are the ones who bring together the study of all-natural systems such as earth, air, water, plants, and animals.

QUALIFICATION:

  1. One who wants to pursue an ecological consultant should pass class 12 with subjects like physics, chemistry, and biology with a minimum of 50%.
  2. Candidate has to give a certain entrance examination to get himself admitted as a student of bachelor of science(medical) and should opt for ecology as a separate subject for specialization. Some specializations are:

(a). urban ecologists: study ecosystem that includes human beings in cities and urbanizing landscapes.

(b). forest ecologists: they study and classify different species of plants, animals, and insects in the forest.

(c). marine ecologist: this branch deals with aquatic life and the impact it has on the environment. They will also work in a zoo, aquarium to protect marine life.

(d). wildlife ecologists: they study animals, especially the population of animals. Their main task is to promote healthy animal conservation.

  1. After completing a bachelor’s one has to pursue a master’s in ecology i.e m.sc ecology or related subjects. this is a competitive area of work and postgraduate qualification may enhance your chances of securing an entry position.
  2. After completing a master’s either the candidate can go for a job or can further go for research in ecology.

Basically to become an ecology consultant one has to at least complete his b.sc degree with some higher degrees.

  1. To become an ecology consultant one has to have good interpretation skills, confidence, written communication skills, and the ability to understand different tasks.
  2. After completion of your courses, the candidate is sent for training .majority of the training is done on-the-job training. During training, the candidate is taught how to perform several tasks, survey, and is given information regarding several techniques.

Ecologists work with scientific and mathematical models to analyze and study the correlation between the living component and their effect on the environment. Also, they have to present certain reports and articles which educate people regarding the environment.

  1. In national parks, ecologists play the role of guides to visitors and study various species.
  2. Ecologist employed in the museum has to study the historical aspects of the environment and environmental changes.

The salary of the ecologist depends largely upon the academic qualification. To start as a fresher one can get rs. 3,00,000 to rs. 4,00,000.the income tends to increase with the increase in the experience. Many environment certificates help in creating a good job profile for the candidate.

An ecologist is an experienced professional who uses their understanding of environmental policies, sustainability methods, and occupational health and safety guidelines to provide an effective solution to business and construction companies.
